How to make Rhubarb Syrup

Good morning,

Well yesterday we had ‘Espresso flavoured syrup’, so today we thought we would provide you with a guide on how to make rhubarb syrup.  With rhubarb being a seasonal fruit / veg (I’m never sure what rhubarb is, if anyone can clarify this matter, please speak up!) we thought it would be good to show you how to make this syrup and include a couple of tasty recipes to use the syrup in!

Rhubarb Syrup

- 10 Rubarb Stalks – Juice in a Juicer
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water

Simmer the sugar with the water in a saucepan, continue until all the sugar has dissolved.  Add the rhubarb juice and bring to the boil.  Continue to simmer for at least 8 minutes.  Let cool and refrigerate.

Once again the syrup making process is easy!

A tasty champagne rhubarb cocktails to use the syrup with…

RHUBARB-BELLINI COCKTAIL

- 3 ounces rhubarb syrup
- 1 bottle champagne

Add the rhubarb syrup top the bottom of a champagne glass and top up with champagne.  Simple but delicious!

Espresso Flavoured Syrup

Hello,

Just thought I’d write a quick post for you this morning regarding a much loved ingredient here at The Cocktail Store.  Making your own syrups is an easy process (yes we do sell MONIN syrups here at The Cocktail Store) but making your own is a little more daring and you get to try out lots of new flavours too.  To make the espresso flavoured syrup, simply follow the recipe below:

Espresso Syrup

- 1 shot of espresso

- 3/4 cups of water

- 1 cup of sugar

In a small sauce pan, dissolve 1 cup of sugar in 3/4 cup water over medium heat. When all of the sugar has dissolved, stir in one shot of espresso. Cool and keep refrigerated until use.

As simple as that.  We make this syrup for cocktails but it can literally be for any pudding or even a topping for an ice cream.
